May 7, 2026 Sheriff Sale Tax Foreclosure List

Sheriff Sale Tax Foreclosures Information

These rules will be in effect as of May 7, 2026.

  1. Sheriff Sales for Tax Foreclosures will be held in person every other Thursday at 1:30 PM in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room, 160 High St. NW, Warren, OH 44481. All properties and descriptions will be advertised in the Trumbull County Legal News 3 weeks prior to the sale.
  2. We recommend you do not solely rely upon any information on the Auditor’s website. Please drive by any property that you are interested in so you know the condition of it before bidding. All sales are final. Being on the property without the permission of the homeowner or occupant is a violation of the Ohio Revised Code.
  3. Check with the appropriate city, township or village to make sure the property you are interested in is not on the demolition list. You should also check with the utility departments to make sure there are no additional liens.
  4. Bidding will begin at the minimum bid amount and will increase in $100 increments. If you are the successful bidder, a deposit of $3,000.00 will be required at the time the bidding concludes. The deposit has to be in the form of certified funds made payable to the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office.
  5. In the event that the deposit is not tendered at the time the bid is accepted, the selling officer shall re-open the bidding immediately, starting with the minimum bid, and continuing until a sale is made to a bidder who satisfies the deposit requirement.
  6. Along with the deposit, the purchaser must fill out a Purchaser Information Form. The form must be legible and complete, as the form will become part of the court record. Blank forms will be available the day of the sale.
  7. 30 days from the sale date, a Confirmation of Sale will be filed with the Clerk of Court. The debtor has the right of redemption of the property until the confirmation is signed by the Judge.
  8. The balance on the purchase price is due 30 days from the Confirmation of Sale. Once the balance is received, the Sheriff’s Office will record the deed transferring the property into the successful bidder’s name.
  9. Please be aware that the Sheriff’s Office does not have access to any homes or have keys to any properties offered for sale. If the successful bid is not enough to cover all costs, the buyer is responsible.

Should you have any questions, please call the Civil Office at 330-700-2000.
