Subdivision Plats & Zoning...

The Trumbull County Planning Commission provides community planning and zoning assistance to the unincorporated areas of Trumbull County on a wide variety of issues. These services include: Administration of Subdivision Regulations for all Townships, Subdivision of Land Information and Processing, Site Plan Reviews and Recommendations, Zoning Text and Map Amendment Reviews.

ZONING

Zoning in Trumbull County is handled at the local level. There is not county-wide zoning in effect, nor does the Planning Commission have authority over local zoning. Per Ohio Revised Code, the Commission’s role is an advisory one in which recommendations are made and guidance is given to the unincorporated areas of the County (townships).

There are currently only four townships that do not have zoning: Brookfield, Mecca, Mesopotamia, and Vernon.

FOR SPECIFIC ZONING DETERMINATIONS OR QUESTIONS: You will need to contact the appropriate local zoning authority for the area in which you are inquiring:

SUBDIVISION

The primary role of the Subdivision Administration section is to provide consultation services for landowners, review major and minor subdivisions to determine compliance with Regulations and other adopted plans, coordinate cross-agency review, as well as prepare maps and staff reports for Planning Commission meetings.
