Judge Scott Lynch......

Judge Scott Lynch was elected to the Eleventh District Court of Appeals in November 2024, and he is humbled to have the privilege to serve Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Portage, and Trumbull Counties in Northeast Ohio. A third-generation attorney, Judge Scott Lynch upholds a storied family legacy of public service, including his uncle Judge Matt Lynch (elected to the same court in 2018), as the only relatives serving concurrently on any Ohio Court of Appeals across two generations. His family heritage also includes Judge Scott Lynch’s grandfather John Kennedy Lynch III, government attorney for the Pentagon’s construction, and ancestor Rep. John Churchill, Civil War-era attorney and congressional sponsor of the 14th Amendment’s (Second) Enforcement Act.

Dedicated to the role of an impartial judiciary that our Framer’s intended, Judge Scott Lynch takes great personal inspiration from the State of Ohio official motto: “With God All Things Are Possible”. Before joining the bench, Judge Scott Lynch was a private attorney for ten years, including continuing and growing the family law firm Lynch & Lynch Law LLC with a focus on estate planning, trusts, and probate law that was later acquired by Dworken & Bernstein Co. LPA. Judge Scott Lynch’s public service previously extended to roles as an elected Euclid City Councilman, where he was raised, and as appointed Village Solicitor for the former Village of Aquilla in Geauga County.

Judge Scott Lynch graduated from Saint Ignatius High School, a Jesuit institution in Cleveland. He earned his Bachelor of Arts cum laude from John Carroll University and his Juris Doctorate from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. In addition to the Ohio Bar, he is admitted to the practice of law (inactive status) in Florida. Judge Scott Lynch also holds certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), enhancing his analytical clarity.

Committed to excellence through impartial, principled decisions, this background informs Judge Scott Lynch’s interests in technology and improved communication models to continue to strengthen public confidence in the judiciary. Residing in eastern Geauga County, Judge Scott Lynch and his wife Kari Lynch have four children together.
